I have to admit there are reasons I do what I do and one of them is capturing moments like this…

You know me, I love shots that are emotional, and although I can’t tell what the parents to be are thinking, I’m sure it’s all wonderful thoughts about their baby on the way.  Scott and I joke around a bit about how I think the baby is going to be another girl, and how he’s “secretly” rooting for a boy.  So every time I see him I spontaneoulsy scream out “girl” as though I have some sort of nervous tick or something.  He gives me an evil eye and says “bite your tongue!”  But deep down I know that Scott and Andrea will love their baby on the way the same, no matter boy or girl.  I will tell you though when I walked into the house and saw Andrea for the first time in months, I immediately thought “boy!”  Don’t tell Scott though!

Their little one gave us a bit of adult alone time while she napped.   I think I laughed a little too loudly and woke her up! (Yes, I make no secret of it, I’m a loud laugher…Did I mention I love to laugh???)

You know what I love most about Scott and Andrea…two things, number 1: (ask me about Marco another time! I’ll do a little french transating for you!)

and #2:  the banana & chocolate chip pancakes! You know you’ve arrived when you show up at a session and breakfast is being prepared while you shoot! Love it….

And I think one of my favourite shots of the day has to be this one:

I just have to say a BIG HUGE THANK YOU to Scott and Andrea, seriously, for being huge supporters of me and my career from Day One.  I think next to my mom, Andrea may be my biggest fan, and I want you to know Andrea (and Scott!) that I appreciate it to no end.  Really. It means alot.  Ok enough mushy stuff…now give us some more Banana Chocolate Pancakes and maybe we will let the cat go unharmed and unkissed!

Nikki on the other hand…WOW! I think she should be pregnant all the time!  You know how people say “you’re glowing”, well I was never “glowing” when I was pregnant, but I can honestly say that Nikki is more then glowing, she’s got this beautiful aura surrounding her and her baby and quite frankly, I’m a weeee bit jealous !  I met Nikki on the day of the shoot, although we had emailed back and forth.  I was a little intimidated meeting her, because she’s a model, and from pictures I had seen, I knew she was going to be gorgeous!  And she is!  My anxiety upon meeting Nikki quickly diminished when she opened the door and greeted us with a big smile and hurriedly ushered us in! She had baked us some croissants and wanted us to eat them while they were still warm!  Gorgeous…and NICE! Darn it, I really wanted to dislike this girl!!   Not gonna happen! I love this girl! We chatted and laughed as though we had been friends for years! 

Nikki and her hubby Demetrius are going to make awesome parents.  If Demetrius has his way, baby boy will come into this world, rocking it out on a baby guitar!  Or better yet, maybe the drums! Instant band and you never even have to leave the home to practice!  I can just tell that Baby will be playing a musical instrument before he can probably walk or talk.  I need to make a separate trip to photograph Demetrius on his own with all of his guitars!  What a fun shoot that would be! (hint…hint…)

and as the saying goes…”that’s a wrap!”  Nikki and Demetrius, thank you so much for allowing me into your home and your world for a few hours!  I feel very fortunate to meet such great people in my travels.  I can’t wait for the opportunity to hopefully photograph your newborn!   

Ummm….the baby came all ready! A few weeks early I might add.  I’ll be posting some pics of the beautiful bouncing baby girl soon, but for now you’ll just have to admire the beauty that is Andrea.  There is nothing more beautfiul than a pregnant woman who is confident in her own skin.  We had such a great time taking these shots, we talked so much (maybe a little too much) that I had to come back the next day cause I ran out of light!!  Scott and Andrea were gracious enough to let me in a second time.  I’m so glad they did.  I could’ve photographed Andrea all day long.  Their is an “old wives tale” that says if you’re having a girl, she will drain you of all of your beauty while your pregnant.  I think these photos prove that that is exactly a “tale” cause Andrea was absolutely beaming.  Not one ounce of beauty stolen from her.  She was so radiant she even made Scott look good in the pictures!! (I can tease they’re good friends of mine!)

Like I said…nothing sexier than a woman confident in her own skin.  Look at this belly,  absolutely gorgeous, with a baby waiting inside to meet it’s parents.  Nothing better than that.  This was one of my faves of the shoot.  For so many reasons.

Ok, but this one hands down is my absolute fave.  I think Andrea missed her calling! This picture screams elegance, class, beauty, sexy, all rolled into one. Dang Girl! I love it! If the baby looks anything like her momma…well, let’s just say Scott’s going to be in trouble!
