I hate DL! I hate Blayne! Ok…soooo I don’t hate them,  BUT if they are playing against me in baseball (DL) or hockey (Blayne) well, then I will admit they are NOT my favourite people!! Why??? Because they are too good.  I mean what does it take to drop a few balls every once in awhile? Or let me steal the puck every once in awhile? Is that asking too too much??? Apparently, I think it is.  I met DL a few years ago when she played on our ball team.  I knew Blayne from hockey but had never officially met her.  What a surprise it was to find out that they were together and officially engaged!  When DL asked me to photograph their engagement and wedding, of course I said yes.   (Hindsight I really should have put some “sport” conditions in there but live and learn!)

Meeting Blayne was very intimidating, I wasn’t sure what to expect considering I hate her on the ice! (Yes, she’s that good at hockey).  Of course,  I instantly liked her when we met.  She’s sweet and kind and she loves my friend DL.  (Three definite pluses!)  I liked her even more when she said to me “When I first met DL it was like I had known her my whole life.” And it wasn’t necessarily what she said, but how she said it.  It just made me feel like, “yes, these two are meant to be”.  Not that they need my permission or anything, but it’s just such a good feeling when you can feel how someone feels about a person.  Makes you warm and fuzzy inside.

Now, I must preface this with another statement, that I in no way shape or form, endorse the Toronto Maple Leafs. (Go Boston GOOOO!) But…gulp, some people do! 🙂
