When someone asks you if you will photograph their small “elopement” in Lake Placid, you don’t say no…never say no.  Lake Placid is such a beautiful spot and for Mel and Jeff I think it was the perfect spot.  Perfect because well that’s where he proposed, up the mountain.  Perfect because Lake Placid can be calm, quiet, beautiful and majestic, all rolled into one.  It easily reflects Mel and Jeff’s personalities.  Although the sun was shining on this particular day, it was freeeeezing! Brrrr….but Mel and Jeff rocked it out and never complained once.  When I got back to my hotel after their wedding it took me hours to warm up.  I found myself wondering how they braved the cold for photographs, jacket-less! I hope they spent some time in the Whiteface Lodge hot tub after their reception was over!
