High Park Engagement | Madison & Matt

High Park Engagement Photography

Usually when I travel to High Park with couples, we meet at the bottom of the park and walk around as far as we can go.  (It is a big park after all!)  When I arrived this time, I thought I would take the road less traveled and decided to tour around.  Curiosity makes for better photos! There were fountains, and trees and ponds, men (man) doing leg lifts, artists drawing, other weddings, other photo shoots.  It was a whole side to the park I had never seen before.  So I quickly got on the phone and asked Madison and Matt and told them to come on up!  I think they loved it too!  When we were wrapping up, we found these berries and Matt was very excited about them.  I learned that he has a green thumb! So it was a treat to watch him transform surrounded by his element, his fiance Madison and greenery!

Barrie Golf And Country Club | Ashley & Sean

Barrie Golf and Country Club

No matter how nice the venue, nothing can prepare you for the rain, wind and all around bad weather…well, that is nothing but Ashley, Sean, their family and friends and the incredible Barrie Golf and Country Club.  When I started getting texts two weeks ahead of time from Ashley, with panic to her texts about how the weather was shaping up for her outdoor wedding, I started to worry.  Every time I peaked at the weather, I held my phone out far away from me as if to command Siri to change her weather report for Ashley and Sean’s date.   But to no avail.  Siri was stubborn, and so was mother nature.  Every day before and after Saturday, beautiful, but Saturday had that yucky storm cloud.  Not only was there a storm cloud, but there was that ever changing number associated with it, 90% chance of rain, 60% chance, no wait…it’s 90% again!

Ashley’s dream was to have an outdoor wedding, so the day of, off we all went guests, groom and family.  We marched up to the spot where the wedding was supposed to be held, and then it came – the downpour.  We all ran back to the Barrie Golf and Country Club, back to warmth and dryness.  The country club took it in stride, and off we all went to the big porched terrace.  Ashley and Sean didn’t even bat an eye.  The location of the ceremony may have changed, but the feeling of the day definitely didn’t.  Everyone had such a great time, and Sean and Ashley could not and would not let a little rain dampen their day!

Marie Curtis Park Engagement | Jessica & Ben (and Bauer)

Marie Curtis Park Engagement Photography

I had never been to Marie Curtis Park to shoot, let alone shoot an engagement session.  So when Jessica and Ben recommended Marie Curtis Park for their engagement shoot, I had no idea what to expect.  Let me tell you, if you have not been there, you definitely need to go and check it out.  Maybe it was the day we were there, or maybe it was being by the water, but it felt so peaceful and tranquil.  Jessica says her grandmother used to take them there all the time, so it is a very important spot to her.  I love it when couples choose a spot of importance.  It means that much more in the end! Jessica and Ben, thank you for introducing me to Marie Curtis Park, and letting me into your world for a few hours!

Cool! I was on the other side of the creek when you took the photo of the couple with the foot bridge in the background! I remember remarking to my boyfriend that I had never seen anybody having a photographer take their photos there before. The photos turned out great! It’s a little crazy that I came across this!
