Ashley & Chris | Main Street, Unionville | Toronto Wedding Photography

I arrived early at TooGood Pond in Unionville waiting for the arrival of Chris and Ashley and as Ashley referred to him, Tyson Shmyson (the dog)!  I like to scope out the area ahead of schedule thinking of shots that I want to capture, finding nice pockets of light.  WOW, was the place ever bustling, but in a nice way.  Lots of people out for just casual strolls with family and just enjoying the warm November day that was Remembrance Day.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Tyson walking towards me! What a sweet, cute and funny (yes, funny!) dog.  This is Tyson all stealth like:

And then this is Tyson allowing himself to be walked.

I say “allowing because well, let’s face it, I don’t really think Tyson lets anyone walk him.  He will walk (read: run) you.   Case in point (Ashley & Chris brought along some friends to help with Tyson when he wasn’t being photographed):

It really was a sight to see! I laughed so hard, but Tyson is so friendly and turns out he just wanted to say “hi” and make sure that his owners were going to be well taken care of!

After we sent Tyson on his way for a run, Ashley, Chris and I  journeyed over to TooGood pond to start our photo shoot.   I normally have to break in the couple a bit before they warm up to the camera, but I can honestly say Chris and Ashley were ready for anything!

Meet Chris:

I absolutely LOVE this next photograph of Chris! He was totally GQing it out!!

Meet drop dead gorgeous Ashley! Like seriously, she’s smart, super nice, and beautiful!

Together they make up the fabulous duo of Chris & Ashley, who are getting married next December!

Tyson made a quick appearance again:

Told you they were fabulous!! While they quickly changed clothes for the next part of our shoot along Main Street, Unionville (Historic Unionville) I photographed the stunning engagement ring! Chris you obviously have great taste! You chose Ashley to be your bride and you chose this ring too!

My gosh can you believe Ashley’s boots.  I don’t know how many people stopped us on the street to ask Ashley where she got them from! (Me being one of those people!) In case you want to know, I believe Ashley said Steps, but she got them last year, so we may all be out of luck!

Men, if you’re stuck for a Christmas present, I guarantee you buy your woman a pair of boots like this and she will like you for a long time to come!! (hint hint to my hubby!)

Ashley and Chris as so great together, they are such nice people, they’re smart, good looking and just genuinely great people.   We had some fun at Chris’ expense, and he took it in stride and played right along with it!  Even giving the “evil” eye as if to say “I don’t think so!”

Ashley & Chris, thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your engagement session!

Evergreen Brickworks Engagement Photography | Cara & Wallace

A gorgeous Evergreen Brickworks Engagement Photography

They wanted to go to Paris for vacation, but it turned out Cara was just too busy at work.  Let’s face it, to go to Paris and do Paris well, you need more then a week.  So they decided on San Francisco.  Wallace had been planning a proposal in Paris.  Could San Francisco replace the romantic ideal that is Paris?  Wallace would soon find out.  Remember it’s not where you are that makes something fun and special, it’s who you’re with.  I think Wallace could’ve proposed on a curbside somewhere in down town Toronto and it would’ve been just as romantic, and just as special.  Wallace didn’t have to worry because Paris/San Francisco/Toronto, Cara said “YES!” to Wallace’s proposal of marriage, and now they have set the date for August 2013!

And a little “chimping” never hurt anyone:

We met up at the Evergreen Brickworks, and Cara and Wallace were so fashionably coordinated! I loved it, and they brought props! I LOVE PROPS, I love fashion and I love fun people.  We had it all this session.

They had these balloons, that they drew faces on to represent the faces that they like to draw and make!

I put a little vintage spin on this one, just because it felt a little “vintagey” to me!

A quick change of clothes and we were off again!

Cara & Wallace, I just wanted to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to photograph your engagement session! I had a blast and I hope you did too!

Carlos & Saniye | High Park Engagement Photography | Toronto Wedding Photographer

A huge part of getting couples who book with me to open up and feel more relaxed on their wedding day is providing newly engaged couples with an engagement session.  It gives me a chance to get to know you better and see what makes you tick as individuals and as a couple!   I’m always pushing for couples to have an engagement session with me, because really, I’m going to be spending one of the most important days of your life with you, and I want you to relax and feel comfortable with me around on your big day!

Sometimes, some couples need a little, teen bit of prodding, and that’s natural.  So I prod! 🙂  I’ll admit, I had to maybe do some extra prodding to convince Saniye & Carlos to get in front of my camera prior to their Wedding Day next year.  Saniye told me she hates having her photographs taken (Ummm…WHY? you’re gorgeous!!) and that she’s not all that affectionate. (Hmm…could’ve fooled me!) After a little bit of convincing on my part, we met up at High Park in Toronto on a beautiful fall day.

We did our, what I call, “preliminary warm up” shots as I like to call them, and then we headed around, to get the meatier, juicier shots! 🙂

Meet Handsome, always smiling, Carlos:

Meet Beautiful, (camera shy-but really no need to be), Saniye:

See told you she is beautiful! It is so obvious that Carlos thinks so too!

If I had to guess, I would think that Saniye thinks Carlos is pretty speical too…

We had alot of fun.  I kept telling Carlos, “If she’s not usually cuddly, now is the time to take advantage!” and like any good man should, he took advantage of the snuggly time!

Carlos & Saniye, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to photography your engagement session as well as your wedding next year! I had a lot of fun (and so did my wonderful assistant!)
