What do the above things have in common? Well they were all things that could be seen/heard/witnessed/enjoyed at the wedding of Huni & Vicky on a beautiful October day.

Vicky & Huni’s day started with a traditional Chinese Tea ceremony, but before that could begin, Huni had to work to see his bride…when Huni approached the door, little did he know that he would be greeted by a sea of people, clamouring for him to sing a song about love.  It is funny that when put on the spot, as much as we all probably listen to music, every single song we know, escapes our mind.  As though we’d never heard of music, let alone love songs.  So when Vicky’s family, repeated again that Huni must sing a love song (***and loud) poor Huni started sweating.   Slowly but surely, Huni started to sing…

Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away
If you can use some exotic booze
There’s a bar in far Bombay
Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away

“HEY??!!!? Is this a love song??” Someone shouted from the hotel room we were in, listening to Huni sing for his love.  But patience is a virtue, and the words kept coming from Huni singing his Frank Sinatra tune…

Once I get you up there where the air is rarified
We’ll just glide, starry-eyed
Once I get you up there I’ll be holding you so near
You may hear angels cheer ’cause we’re together

Words of magic, as Huni was granted entrance!  But his time of winning his beloved’s heart was not over.  He was given a spitoon, and made to place it on his head…then the calling.  It was time for Huni to call out to Vicky.  Let’s just say his first attempt was an epic fail.  🙂  His 2nd attempt, soooooo much better.  “I beseech you dear Vicky, please come out”.  Lo and Behold, Vicky, on the arm of her father, entered the room and was greeted by a BIG smile on Huni’s face.  And this began the day that Vicky and Huni would pledge their love to each other in front of family and friends.

Everyone was in  good spirits, and mom even shared a few tips on how Vicky was to “handle” the spittoon and her new husband! I think I learned a thing or two myself!
