Jason & Becky – The Greens At Renton, Port Dover – Wedding Photography

Jay & Becky got married back in August, and now that it is a litte bit less busy (Ok, who am I kidding it is still very busy!) I wanted to make sure their wedding appeared on the blog! (With still many more things to appear on the blog from babies, to gender parties, to more babies, to more weddings, to more engagement sessions and even some “just because” sessions!) So check back often!

Sorry, back to Jay & Becky!  They got married at the Greens at Renton just north of Port Dover.  The wedding day started at a little cottage in Port Dover where the boys were hanging out and getting ready!  Meet handsome Jay, and all his dashing groomsmen! I can honestly say I think they decided that day who was going to be the best man at the wedding.  It was like any one of them could’ve been it, that’s how close friends they are, but they decided to be fair they should flip for it or something!

While the boys hammed it up, Becky, the gorgeous bride to be got ready and hammed it up with her girls!

Jay & Becky opted for a First-look (alot of people ask me “What is a ‘first look’?” I am going to spend a whole blog post on it in the near future explaining the merits behind it, but for now, a first look happens when a groom sees the bride prior to the ceremony).  Jay was like a little boy at a candy store, he couldn’t wait to see his bride, he kept trying to peak over his shoulder!

We had some cute onlookers…

And some not so cute onlookers…(Totally JOKING!) 😉

We then headed back into the clubhouse at The Greens at Renton for the much anticipated ceremony!

After the ceremony we headed out to the balcony for the bride and groom to throw their hearts into the air in happiness! Of course, not literally.

Congratulations Jay & Becky on your wedding, it was so much fun to photograph and be a part of!

Daniel & Linh – Meadowvale Conservation Area, Mississauga – Toronto & Missisauga Wedding Photographer

Toronto & Mississauga Wedding Photography, Meadowvale Conservation Area, Engagement Photograph

I asked Linh & Daniel questions that I love to ask newly engaged couples…how did he propose? Did you cry? How long have you been together? My jaw almost hit the floor (well actually I’m pretty sure it DID hit the floor) when Linh announced that she has been with Daniel since they were 14 years old! Excuse me??Come again???? Talk about meant to be.  I couldn’t believe it.  I love hearing things like that!

I can so see though why these two have been together since such a young age.  They still laugh together.  Linh told me when I first met her a few weeks ago at the Toronto Bridal Show, that Daniel always makes her laugh.  She also told me he would be a big ham for the camera! She calls him a “poser”, and he so is!! The camera couldn’t get enough of Daniel, but Linh is no slouch either!!

They are both still in University studying for different things,  but finding time to still enjoy each others company and make wedding plans.  Linh brought so many props with her for their session, I LOVE it when couples take the time to make their engagement session unique to them as a couple! It’s what makes the sessions stand out from everyone else!

We met up at the Meadowvale Conservation Area in Mississauga…

And the rock that Linh is sporting on her finger…nicely done Daniel!

We spent a ton of time on the bridge there because the light was just so absolutely perfect!

But we also spent time travelling the paths and seeing what else the Meadowvale Conservation Area had to offer.

Linh & Daniel brought so many fun props! I loved it.  Linh has a fascination with scrabble, so she brought along her “Travel Scrabble”.   Then a little ode to the “Twilight” Book cover.

For the finale, Linh and Daniel decided to have an all out, knock down, drag out, fight to the can completion “Silly String” Battle.

Silly String Fight

We decided in order for the battle to be fair, Linh and Daniel should start off back to back and take three paces before opening fire.

Little did we know, Daniel had his own plans tucked away in his back pocket, literally!  Linh took her three paces. While Daniel, I think he forgot how to count and only took one! Linh didn’t know what hit her…

Even though Daniel didn’t take the necessary, AGREED UPON 3 paces, Linh held her own.  How does Silly String taste Daniel?????  As my youngest son likes to say “Eat some!”

Just when we thought the battle had ended as all the Silly String cans seemed empty, Daniel reaches into his back pocket and pulls out they mystery extra can of Silly String! Didn’t see that one coming…unfortunately, neither did Linh.

But alas, Daniel’s aim was off, probably due to the impaired vision from silly string, and most of it sailed beyond Linh.

Daniel, I am teaching some Silly String Aiming classes during the week, maybe you should consider registering???? LOL!

Linh & Daniel, I can honestly say your engagement session was the most fun I’ve had on a session! You really took the time to prepare and think about what is special to you!  I had a blast, thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Blue Mountain Wedding Photographer | Marvin & Menzies

Blue Mountain Inn, Collingwood, Wedding PHotography

I travelled down to Blue Mountain on what was looking to be a dark (and when I say dark, I mean DARK), cloudy, rainy day.  The skies were black, and rain was everywhere.  I wondered how Menzies was holding up and if she was as worried as I was about the colour of the sky and the tremendous down pouring of rain.  I even stopped at a local Walmart to pick up an extra umbrella just in case!  In the back of my mind though I knew (or maybe prayed is a better word) that  it would stop raining and the skies would clear.

I shouldn’t have worried though.  Menzies was not panicked at all.  This was her day, and a little bit of racing and rain wasn’t going to spoil it.  Her sense of calm must have had an affect on the atmosphere…Sure enough, clear skies, sun shining, birds chirping,  and we were off to the races (almost literally as they had some racing events going on at Blue Mountain at the same time as Marvin & Menzies wedding day)

Honest & truly, is that not the face of Calm?? (And beauty??)

Bridesmaid getting ready

The boys even peaked their heads in for a bit for some pizza and socializing.  Marvin & Menzies opted for a “first-look” but that meant a first look and I guess a forever look, because they saw each other all day long, they weren’t going to spend any time apart if they didn’t have to.  As Menzies said “we’ve been together for 7 years now” which translates into the bride and groom were spending their wedding day doing what they love to do, spend time together!  I’m all for that!

Although, once the wedding dress was ready to go on, it was game on, and the boys were sent back to their room next door to start getting dressed themselves.

While the boys were rushing around trying to figure out how to put on their ties (well at least the groom’s tie), the girls and guy (yes, the Maid of honour was the “Man of Honour”) helped the bride with the final touches.

and she did not disappoint.  So elegant and beautiful…

We made our way to the village to where Menzies would finally see Marvin all tuxed out and ready to get married!   Marvin & Menzies weren’t expecting an exact first look, but I couldn’t let Marvin see his bride for the first time without some sort of intrigue and anticipation, so we took Marvin away from it all (well maybe about 20 feet from it all) to where he was told we just needed to take some photos of him.  Little did he know that Menzies would be joining him.

I think Marvin was speechless! 🙂

We then travelled around the village at Blue Mountain for some pre-ceremony photographs.

I told the Bridesmaids to snuggle up with Marvin so he could enjoy his last moments of freedom.  They quickly surrounded him and they did not disappoint!

I told the guys to do the same thing…and ummmm…this is what we got. Their idea of snuggling and looking sexy.  We may need some lessons for them??? 🙂

So Marvin & Menzies provided the lesson…no prompting required.

We then journeyed up the mountain to the ceremony.  I was so thankful there was no rain, because the view was absolutely incredible.

Menzies made her way to the front, with her dad at her side, walking towards the man of her dreams.  Family and friends looked on as Marvin & Menzies committed themselves completely to each other.

Afterwards Marvin & Menzies provided everyone with tickets to the tram to take everyone back to the reception.

It was a beautiful day, with so many special touches thought of by the bride and groom, and even family members.  Menzies cousin Paisley brought chinese lanterns for the couple to release in honour of their union.

Marvin & Menzies, thank you for the opportunity to photograph your wedding day.  Congratulations to you both!
